Geneticons is a freelance project for London IDEAS, one of a network of six genetics knowledge parks in the UK, directly funded by grants from the Department of Health and the Department of Trade and Industry. Their aim is to enable people to make informed choices to reduce the burden of disease for which they are at genetic risk.

One of their main areas of activity is education, and Geneticons was created as part of a series of activities to teach children how they inherit characteristics or traits from their parents.
